Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's Restaurant invites you to discover her worldview through the cuisine she creates. Her food evokes curiosity, which developed once she left in the Long Island suburbs and entered the rich and diverse landscape of Los Angeles. Her belief that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist in harmony on the same menu creates an atmosphere that is always changing. But what remains with her food is a singular vision towards the future and a longing to remember the historical past. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso who was influenced from her Italian American family heritage. The restaurant received an enthusiastic reception. Lofaso is praised for her interpretation of traditional Italian food. The food at Lofaso is always authentic warm, welcoming and satisfying. Lofaso trained under legendary chefs and absorbed their sophisticated methods but she didn't hesitate to take extraordinary risks in order to follow her intuition. She rose quickly through the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago and went on to revamp several high-profile kitchens within Los Angeles while working closely with celebrities of all kinds. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in the year 2011. Through Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found the perfect home. It would provide the creative freedom Lofaso desired. Black Market is not constrained by any one direction. And that is the intention. It could begin with the potato chips and peppers, shishto. This is followed by Korean meatballs, wings or lobster rolls. Antonia anchors the bold range of flavours. Lofaso evaluates her achievements according to her innate awareness of the audience she is addressing, but remains in line with her personal style. Her memorable performance in Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars was a celebration of her distinctiveness in the kitchen and her talents continue to shine in front of the camera as a judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup as well as in recurring roles in Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child and ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso joined forces with Penguin in 2012 to launch The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes to make Delicious Cooking at home Meals. The book tells her story about the obstacles she faced while studying at The French Culinary Institute and raising Xea. Lofaso believes that her successes stem from the passion she has for cooking. It's in this spirit that Lofaso continues to keep a finger on the pulse. She is transforming the aesthetic by redesigning chef wear in a way that is stylish and functional by launching her brand Chefletics. Lofaso's main concern is to remain committed to her goals. In this regard she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. This provides customers with an extremely personal experience.
