Her parents were a therapist and an ice cream parlor owner, McCormack hails from a family that has no connection to the entertainment field. Following her parents' divorce in 1990, she enrolled at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut and graduated with the degree of BA in Comparative Art. She began her career when she was just 12 years old, and she starred in the stage production "Amahl & the Night Visitors,' a Christmas operetta. She continued to play in theatre and ultimately bagged roles on both the large and small screen. McCormack, today recognized as being one of the most versatile Hollywood artists. Michael Morris is her husband and she is mother to three daughters.
