Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. When her father's departure from her family members, she was raised up by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. In her early years Ford was diagnosed with an obsessive-compulsive disorder that caused anxiety due to the word association. Ford began performing in her teens, and was a member of the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. After just a few weeks, she realized it was not for her. Ford decided to apply to Central School of Speech and Drama and getting a spot at the third time made an application and secured an admission to the Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall would play Pete Tyler as a regular character for Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was a 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the when she finished her studies, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate was on television in the Nineties in shows like The Bill and Men Behaving Badly. She worked on stage regularly and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2000-2001 season. However, Tate quickly began gaining notice for her stand-up comedy, which she added to her resume in the year 1996.
